Rescue Information

There are many resources devoted to animal rescue on the web. Here are links to some of them:

Feral Cat Resources

Feral cats are cats born in the wild that usually cannot be tamed or adopted, but can live a long and happy life, given the basics - food, shelter, and veterinarian care. They are not cats that were formerly owned by people and then lost or abandoned - these are wild animals that rarely adapt to living indoors and are therefore not suitable for adoption.

The Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program allows these cats to live in their current environment without reproducing. The cats are humanely trapped, then taken to a veterinarian to be spayed/neutered, be given their shots, be checked and treated for any existing medical conditions, then returned to their outdoor homes. The vet also "eartips" them - removes a small portion of their ear - as a universal symbol to all that this cat has been fixed and can no longer reproduce.
